IMPACT Community Outreach Ministry Training:
A 5-Week Journey Toward Intentional, Christ-Centered Engagement

This training will equip participants to engage in continuous, intentional interaction with the community, emphasizing sensitivity, avoiding toxic charity, and fostering meaningful discipleship. Together, let’s explore how to build authentic relationships and embody Christ’s love in practical, impactful ways. Don’t miss this chance to grow in your cultural awareness in a world that changes daily and makes a lasting difference.

What to Expect:

Each session incorporates biblical teachings, discussion, self-reflection exercises, and references to Toxic Charity by Robert D. Lupton and other relevant resources. (All training materials will be provided)

Training Overview:

Week 1: The Heart of Service

Serving with Christ’s Love

 “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” – Mark 10:45

Devotional: Reflect on Jesus’ example of servant leadership. What does it mean to serve with humility and love? How do we shift our mindset from doing for others to doing with others?

Week 2: Seeing People as God Sees Them

Sensitivity in Service

“So God created mankind in his own image.” – Genesis 1:27

Devotional: Every person we serve bears the image of God. How do we honor their dignity and worth in our outreach efforts?

Week 3: Avoiding Toxic Charity

Helping Without Hurting

“Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.” – Philippians 2:4

Devotional: Reflect on the difference between meeting immediate needs and fostering long-term growth. How does Jesus model sustainable help?

Week 4: Building Authentic Discipleship Relationships

Walking Alongside Others

 “Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.” – 1 Thessalonians 5:11

Devotional: True discipleship is relational. How do we walk alongside others with empathy, encouragement, and accountability?

Week 5: Becoming the Body of Christ

Working Together for His Glory

 “Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.” – 1 Corinthians 12:27

Devotional: Each of us has unique gifts and roles within the body of Christ. How can we come together as a church to impact our community effectively?
